Every year around the last week of January to the beginning of February, winds from the Sahara's carry across the maritime and the island is shrouded in a cloud of dust and sand. With these changing winds, warmer months will arrive perfect in time for new beginnings!

On 2022's eve I produced my first NFT of the year for the VCA art residency I began in November 2021. Something about the midnight hour of the first hour of the year --a transmutation the first meta-machine needed. From the moment I understood the residency and the amount of energy harnessed in creating a thoughtful experience, I wanted to give it, and those I would meet, my undivided attention (or the amount I can manage as an Earthling).

For the auction piece, I spent a lot of time "thinking" or what felt like long periods of staring into nothing space...luckily, something happened. During the residency I was inspired by the energy of the community and the class taught by the creators of DADA and their idea of the invisible economy, which moved me to create mtm.

The auction event was exciting and you can check it out, too! Built by fellow cohorts Mical Noelson, BoryaXYZ, and event coordinator, Lisa Kolb, it was a fantastic, first virtual experience in the metaverse for all of us birdies taking flight. :3 Art featured by each resident and two portal experiences, occult3d's Saved Connection, in which the after party took place, and Borya's Pieces of Garbage where one may search for hidden treasures! Since the event, Borya has graciously opened the portals to PoG. You can find Vitaly's apple and my Versum genesis mints hidden amongst her gems! So happy to finally mint these pieces (yes, I am a slow-poke) and grateful to debut them in my friend's sacred space! woohoo!

I was really happy by my first art residency experience and grateful for all that I learned and those that I met along the way.

mtm was collected by Elsie, and I was so happy to be alongside friends of the collected batch. Grateful to Elsie for allowing us to give back to the community that continues to nurture future cohorts growth and experiences! Looking forward to do more fun things with my friends and teachers!

I am now in development of the next Kashmiri collaboration NFT, which was on hold while I did the residency. I am excited about this collab as I am a fan of this music group for some time now, and I really hope it works out! To accompany their beautiful rendition, I am studying miniature set design and sometimes share my process via discord and socials. I hope it will be really good, and thank you to my friends humoring me as I experiment and share my process, but end-up changing it all! <3

Thank you to those secretly discovering my work <3 It's always a surprise and truly makes me happy to keep pushing further into my studies and hopefully have the ability to make something cooler !!! Connecting to others through art is an experience I never know what to expect, but it has been eye-opening and I'm here for the journey and growth.

The winds have slowed and the dust has settled.. See you when I've regained my balance and caught my breath to report new findings!
